So many times before, we've seen the Celtics come through with late clutch shots at home to send their opponents packing without any celebration. On Wednesday, it didn't quite work out that way.
The Celtics, who had previously won 13 straight at TD Banknorth Garden, were burned in the final minute by the Rockets as they dropped their third consecutive overall, 89-85.
Paul Pierce led the C's with 26 points and Kevin Garnett, who eclipsed Walt Bellamy as the NBA's 26th all-time leader in scoring, added 18 points and eight rebounds.
